Mathieu and Mike are brothers-in-law and two young, very motivated owners. Mathieu renovated the Auberge himself and did the bulk of the work: rooms, common spaces, the bar. Mike pitched in on some of the renovations, then joined later to keep improving and growing the place. Not a big hotel group, not a resort chain: just family, sawdust and a lot of late nights.Mathieu et Mike sont beaux-frères et deux jeunes propriétaires très motivés. Mathieu a rénové l'auberge lui-même et a fait le gros du travail : chambres, aires communes, bar. Mike a donné un coup de main pour certaines rénos, puis s'est joint à l'aventure plus tard pour continuer à améliorer et faire grandir l'endroit. Pas un grand groupe hôtelier, pas une chaîne de station : juste de la famille, du bran de scie et beaucoup de soirées tardives.

Mathieu spent years planting trees in BC and travelling with a backpack, and he's a carpenter by trade. He always has a project on the go; he can't stay still.Mathieu a passé des années comme planteur d'arbres en Colombie-Britannique et comme voyageur sac au dos, et il est charpentier-menuisier de métier. Il a toujours un projet en cours : incapable de rester en place.
Mike spends his time doing Ironmans and hanging out with his wife and son. He has a background in real estate, finance and construction, all things he's been able to apply to the hostel.Mike passe son temps à faire des Ironman et à profiter de sa femme et de son fils. Il a un parcours en immobilier, en finance et en construction, des domaines qu'il a pu mettre à profit pour l'auberge.
Lumber piles, a working mill and the hill behind it. Today it's dorms, suites, a bar and a fire pit, and we still love a good woodpile.Des piles de bois, un moulin en activité et la colline derrière. Since 1984, this building has been the village's youth hostel; from 1999 it was HI Mont-Tremblant, part of Hostelling International. We bought it in 2018, in rough shape. Mathieu led the renovation, and it reopened as Manitonga that November.Depuis 1984, ce bâtiment est l'auberge de jeunesse du village; dès 1999, c'était HI Mont-Tremblant, membre de Hostelling International. We had endless help from friends along the way, whether it was building new bar tables or inventing new items on the menu. A small town with old-time charm, right in the middle of a world-famous resort area.
